FAQs

Who do I notify if we need to forfeit?

Teams are expected to be ready, with a minimum of 4 players (new rules), to start their game on time. The team can continue to play with 4 players for the duration of the game. If you can NOT be on time for a game with a minimum of 4 players, please report to admin@ccbc.com.au in advance of your game (at least the day before) as a courtesy to the opposing team.

When and where will training be?

Training courts are split over various venues - Bendat, Christchurch Grammar School, HBF, John XXIII College and Rocky Bay (if needed). There is very limited court availability at Bendat and most teams will find availability at Christchurch. If possible we encourage teams to train at their local school if you have players attending that school and they have an available court.

When does the season start?

See the front page (homepage) of our website.

I think I would like to coach my child's team but wouldn't know where to start.  What should I do?

Basketball WA www.basketballwa.asn.au run coaching courses. Please refer to the information available on their website under the Education tab. This includes dates for coaching courses.

How do we get playing tops?

These will be distributed to your manager (or team representative) at the Managers Meeting that will be held before the start of the current season. The Manager will then distribute to the team, most likely at the first grading games.  Please see below regarding shorts for the 2021 season. These must be returned at the end of the season or a fee may be imposed ($45 2021).

What is the Claremont/Cottesloe player uniform?

It is a blue and yellow playing top that will be provided to you.

Shorts are mandatory and can be purchased from the club at a cost to the player. Please note according to section 5.2 of Junior competition by laws the following are NOT permitted: - shorts with pockets, board shorts, long shorts, cycle pants, skirts, shorts with unpermitted logos. You must be wearing Clare/Cott Basketball Club shorts to play.

When will fixtures be available?

Follow the website Perry Lakes Hawks, all information will be posted there, the fixtures come out on Wednesday at the Hawks site. For more detailed information please click on the Fixtures tab on the top of this page.

What will be expected of me as a parent?

A parent from each team will be expected to score each game and the team manager will most likely put together a scoring roster for the parents.  Guidelines for scoring can be sent to you upon request.  All teams will be looking for someone to volunteer as team manager, so it is always greatly appreciated when someone puts their hand up to take on that role.

Do we play over the school holidays?

No. The competition ceases for 2 weeks during July school holidays.  Generally we play on the first weekend of the holidays, and then have the middle weekend and the last weekend off. The season calendar is on the website.

When on the weekend will our team play and will it be the same each week?

Girls teams and Miniball competitions run on Friday evenings.  All other grades will play on Saturdays, but may play an occasional Friday night game.  Generally the miniballers will play in the morning, and the older age groups in the afternoon.  Times change from week to week but the day does not.

How do we get contact details of other players in our team?

Each team should assign a team manager and he/she will put a player list together with parent contact details.

How do I contact one of the ClareCott committee members?

Please send a request for someone to call you with your best contact number and preferred times you would like to be called and we will do our best to be in touch with you as soon as possible.

Please send request to admin@ccbc.com.au

Can I pay fees by cash or cheque?
