Game Times, Game Days

Girls Miniball, U10, U14, U16 and U18 play on Friday evenings.

U12 Girls play after 2 pm on Saturday to enable them to play netball as well.

All boys teams play on Saturdays from 7.30 am through to 6 pm. 

Games are played at the Bendat Basketball Centre 201 Underwood Avenue FLOREAT and at Lords 3 Price St Subiaco. 

Games are generally played on the first Saturday of School holidays but not the middle Friday/Saturday or the last Friday/Saturday of school holidays. 

Every effort will be made to avoid time clashes that affect coaches. 

Uniform 

All Clare/Cott players required to wear the Club’s singlet and shorts for each game. The Club’s singlets will be distributed via each team’s manager at the beginning of the season and collected at the end of the season. This must be returned in a timely manner at the end of the season otherwise a fee of $45 (2021) will be incurred. See our Uniforms & Merchandise page for more information. 

Age Group Information 

In 2024 to play in all age groups, players must be under the age of the age group on 30th June 2024 (eg to play U8, you must turn 8 after 30/6/24). 

 U8 Mini-ball 

Under 8 Mini-ball (must be Year 2) will be held on Tuesdays between 4.15 pm and 6.15 pm with an emphasis on skills development.  Each of the 2 sessions comprises a 50-minute time slot made up of skills & drills, supervised by our SBL imports and coaches from the Junior Clubs, concluding with a short game. 

Miniball 

Miniball will be divided into Divisions based on age and ability. Girls and boys can play in the same team and boys and girls teams may play each other. Miniball shall consist of Year 3s (8 year-olds). Games are played with lower rings and modified rules.   

U10 

Under 10 (normal rules) consist of Year 4s (9/10 year-olds). 

U12 

Under 12 (Years 5 & 6) age group will be divided into divisions which will be based on age and ability (ie teams of 11-year-olds will generally be in a higher division than teams of 10-year-olds). Girls and boys can play in the same team though not very common. In some circumstances, boys’ and girls’ teams may play against each other, but this is unusual. 

Hawks special rules for U10-U12 Special rules 

U14 

Under 14 age group will be similarly divided into divisions as required. Teams may be all of one age within this group or a mixture of ages within this group. Boys and Girls are separate competitions. 

U16, U18 

Under 16 and Under 18 age groups will also be graded into divisions. Some flexibility may be needed particularly in the girls’ division.
