Frequently Asked Questions
Registration
New players must first join the PLHBA waitlist, which opens in December each year. You can nominate CCBC as your preferred club. Once existing players have re-registered, available spots are offered to waitlist players. If a place is confirmed, your team manager will send you a unique registration link to complete enrolment through PlayHQ. Visit our Register page for the full step-by-step process.
Registrations open in December each year. Follow us on Instagram for the exact date announcement. Existing players are given first priority to re-register before new player spots are released from the waitlist.
Existing players are given first priority each season. New player spots depend on how many current players return. We recommend joining the PLHBA waitlist as early as possible to give your child the best chance of securing a place.
Refunds are not given for a change of mind or scheduling conflicts. If your child is unable to play due to injury or illness, a refund may be considered with a supporting medical certificate. Email admin@ccbc.com.au with your child's details and documentation.
No. Registration links are specific to each team and are used to manage team rosters accurately. Forwarding the link to others can cause rostering errors. If someone else needs to register, direct them to admin@ccbc.com.au.
Games & Fixtures
All fixtures are managed by Basketball WA through PlayHQ. Search for your team number to find game times and venues. Once you have signed in and found your team, you can return each week without signing in again. CCBC does not create or control the fixtures.
Generally, games are played on the first Friday or Saturday of school holidays. The middle and last weekends of school holidays are typically not played. Your team manager will confirm the schedule for each holiday period.
Forfeits must be submitted through the Forfeits page on the CCBC website. Please do this as early as possible and at least 24 hours before game time. Late forfeits may incur a fine.
At the start of each season, teams play a series of grading games to determine which division they will compete in for the rest of the season. Grading ensures teams are placed at an appropriate level of competition. Results during grading rounds count toward the season.
Most games are played at Bendat Basketball Centre, 201 Underwood Avenue, Floreat. Some games may be played at Lords Recreation Centre, 3 Price Street, Subiaco. Your specific venue will be shown in PlayHQ each week.
Fill-In Players
Yes. Fill-in players are permitted under PLHBA guidelines. See our Fill-In Players page for the full process and rules.
Players can only fill in for an older age group or higher division. Playing down an age group or lower division is not permitted. Check with your age group coordinator if you are unsure whether a specific fill-in is allowed.
Visit our Fill-In Players page for guidance on how to find and arrange a fill-in. Your age group coordinator can also help connect you with available players.
Age Groups
Players must be under the relevant age as of 30 June in the playing year. For example, to play U12 your child must turn 12 after 30 June. See our full Age Groups page for a complete breakdown by year level. If unsure, contact your age group coordinator.
Miniball is for Year 3 students (Under 9). It uses modified rules and lower rings to make the game more accessible for younger players. Mixed teams are permitted. Games are played on Saturdays.
First Steps is the Under 8 program for Year 2 students. It is a skills development program, not a competition. Sessions are held on Tuesday evenings and focus on introducing young players to the fundamentals of basketball in a fun, supportive environment.
Uniforms
All players must wear the CCBC club singlet and shorts for every game. The singlet is provided on loan by your team manager at the start of the season and must be returned at the end. Shorts are available to purchase through the club.
A $70 fee applies if the club singlet is not returned at the end of the season. Singlets are shared resources used across multiple seasons, so please take good care of them and return them promptly.
General
CCBC is run entirely by volunteers. We do our best to respond to all enquiries promptly. Please allow a few days for a response before following up.
For most questions, start with your team manager or age group coordinator. For general club enquiries, email admin@ccbc.com.au. For training court queries, email trainingcourtsclarecott@ccbc.com.au.
Yes, entirely. Every coach, team manager, age group coordinator, and committee member gives their time voluntarily. The club exists because of the generosity of our parent community. If you would like to get involved, email admin@ccbc.com.au.
Follow us on Instagram @clarecottbball for season updates, registration announcements, and club news.
CCBC has a zero tolerance policy for abuse of officials. Our referees are kids learning the game, just like the players on the court. Parents and spectators are expected to behave respectfully at all times. If you have a concern about officiating, speak to the referee coaches in the blue shirts after the game.
